On November 20, SHINE, supported by partners from the YoungCare consortium, led a European roundtable as part of the YoungCare project, which aims to promote strategies for enhancing the quality of life for informal caregivers and adults under 65. The event gathered 38 participants from across Europe, representing diverse fields such as architecture, urban planning, policymaking, academia, social work, and local or national NGOs working with informal caregivers and adults in need of care. The roundtable focused on discussing the key challenges faced by informal caregivers and exploring the necessary policies and professional support to improve their situation.
The discussions led to the identification of best practices, challenges, and ideas for co-creating a document that will provide valuable insights from experts across various sectors. A second session is scheduled for January 22, from 11:30 CET to 13:00 CET. This session will feature a presentation on the SHAFE approach (Smart Age-Friendly Environments), with SHINE playing a central role in promoting this umbrella approach within its projects.
