On 24 and 25 October, SHINE 2Europe met in Frankfurt for the fourth transnational meeting of the TRIO project. Partners from Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Romania and Spain presented the achievements already made and outlined the future of the project.
SHINE is one of the partners in the TRIO project, coordinated by INESC TEC and funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme. TRIO stands out for transforming adult education by addressing crucial gaps in the areas of digital, health and data literacy. This project is the result of a collaboration between six organisations from five countries, united by a common purpose: to empower citizens through knowledge. The motivation for creating the project came from realising the gaps in literacy in these three vital areas and the pressing need to empower citizens in the digital world and data management, especially in the field of health.
The project includes the development of a digital health literacy manual, which is already available online in English at https://trioproject.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/TRIO_manual_version-for-translation-6.pdf. In addition to this manual, the project consortium is working on a digital learning platform and toolkit for educators and a green paper for policymakers.
These are the results of extensive research, interviews and collaborative workshops involving participants from all partner countries with the common goal of improving educational materials for digital health literacy, with a special focus on adults.
