The COST Action NET4Age-Friendly held its Management Committee meeting in The Hague, Netherlands. The meeting took place both in-person and online on May 23 and 24, 2023.
During this significant meeting, the Management Committee made a plenary presentation of the works so far and the next steps to be taken towards the last year of the Action. Moreover, dedicated working group meetings advanced on their topics and organised to develop the SHAFE Reference Framework. In the closing session, the most relevant results and latest updates from all groups were summarised.
The Management Committee session of NET4Age-Friendly involved the participation of over 50 members from various countries composing this international and interdisciplinary network of researchers and stakeholders from all sectors. The aim is to promote awareness and support the design and implementation of smart and healthy environments, both indoors and outdoors, for present and future generations.
During the meeting, both in-person and online participants had the opportunity to attend the presentation of the SIRENE project, led by Carina Dantas, CEO of SHINE, and Willeke van Staalduinen from AFEdemy. Under the title “SIRENE Social Innovation Framework and ecosystems on responsive inclusive environments,” Carina and Willeke provided an overview of the project’s objectives and achievements, highlighting its connection and potential synergies to explore within the SHAFE (Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments) concept and the NET4 network. They also presented the main achievements to date, including the progress of the state of the art and the establishment and activation of the SIRENE Expert Center, which brings together 27 experts from the EU-27 Member States involved in co-creating the social innovation framework with the project team.
