SIRENE framework for regional innovation presented at INTEGER webinar

On September 16, 2024, Miriam Cabrita, project manager at SHINE 2Europe, presented SIRENE (Social Innovation Responsive Environments Network) during the INTEGER Webinar. The event, under the initiative INTEGER (Interconnecting 4 Helix Innovation Ecosystems in European Regions), brought together a variety of projects that showcased diverse, ecosystem-based approaches to regional social innovation and entrepreneurship.

SIRENE aims to provide a comprehensive framework to enhance social innovation across regional ecosystems, facilitating responsive and interconnected environments where innovation and entrepreneurship can succeed. Through SIRENE, the project aspires to offer support structures and collaborations that adapt to local needs, bridging gaps and accelerating sustainable solutions for societal challenges. Miriam’s presentation underlined SIRENE’s unique value as an adaptable framework, suited to address region-specific needs and catalyze impact through innovation hubs, collaborative networks, and regional partnerships.

As part of the webinar’s “pitch-style” format, other notable projects joined the lineup, each sharing insights and lessons to foster synergies across Europe’s social innovation landscape. These included CHESS (Change Hubs for Ecosystemic Social Solutions), IBESI (Integrated Baltic Ecosystem for Social Innovation), POSITIVE (Participatory Open Social Innovation Through Interlinking Valuable Ecosystems), consolid8 (Consolidating Deep & Inclusive Social Innovation Ecosystems), and the Invest4Health Horizon Europe Project, focusing on finance models for health.

Following the presentations, a dynamic co-creation session allowed participants to collaboratively discuss and conceptualize on actionable solutions. For SIRENE, this interactive component was particularly valuable, as it aligns with the framework’s goal of generating responsive environments that adapt to the evolving demands of social entrepreneurship and innovation.

The INTEGER Webinar created an ideal environment for SIRENE and similar initiatives to build connections and encourage future collaborations, reinforcing Europe’s dedication to social innovation.
