On 29 January, Naples hosted the NewEcoSmart project meeting, which brought together various Italian stakeholders to discuss strategies for empowering rural areas through innovative SHAFE (Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments) approaches. Representatives from various municipalities came together to debate solutions that promote the well-being of communities, in line with the digital and green transition.
SHINE 2Europe was present at this session, represented by its CEO, Carina Dantas, who presented the SHAFE Foundation and its methods and approaches, contributing to an enriching debate on the implementation of inclusive and sustainable environments. This sharing reinforced SHINE’s commitment to promoting innovative solutions that improve people’s quality of life, particularly in rural areas.
In addition to this meeting, there was also a transnational meeting of the NewEcoSmart project, where SHINE, represented by Juliana Louceiro and Carina Dantas, actively participated in defining the next steps for the pilot programmes in Spain, Portugal and Italy, which are now officially moving into the implementation phase.
During this working session, the progress made in WP6, updates on the NES Open Call, the development of the Learning Toolkit, the sustainability of the project and key management aspects were also discussed.
The NES Learning Toolkit can be explored at https://newecosmart.eu/learning-toolkit/ and provides different educational tools to improve digital, green and entrepreneurial skills. This toolkit offers an innovative and flexible MOOC platform, adapted to the constantly evolving needs of the workforce, with a special focus on rural areas and professionals over 45. The MOOC covers essential topics such as environmental awareness, sustainability, digital literacy, entrepreneurship and interpersonal skills. A microlearning APP allows users to learn dynamically, anywhere and at any time. It is an interactive application that allows learners to consolidate knowledge while playing, while also offering analyses and dashboards to monitor their learning paths. With the NES Toolbox, it is possible to deepen knowledge about the digital and green transition, as well as entrepreneurship, through online resources such as games, platforms and training courses.
SHINE 2Europe continues to work actively to ensure that the NewEcoSmart project effectively contributes to the creation of more sustainable and inclusive territories, empowering communities and promoting a more equitable and accessible future for all.
