On June 4 and 5, the SHINE team travelled to Helsinki, Finland, for the second in-person meeting of the CO-SECUR project, attended by researchers Paola Bello and Harm op den Akker.
This meeting included guests from the University of Tampere and the Head of Urban Security Planning at Helsingin kaupunki, as well as representatives from the Finnish Ministry of the Interior. During the event, a review was made of the results achieved and lessons learned in the first six months of the project, and the next steps and future prospects for CO-SECUR were outlined.
The CO-SECUR project aims to drive the adoption of effective, co-produced and successful security protocols and solutions, with a particular focus on mass or crowd events. The project consortium aspires not only to improve security, but also to promote confidence in procedures, increase acceptance, and positively influence security perception and behaviour.
