On November 26, Inês Saavedra, on behalf of SHINE 2Europe, presented the YoungCare project at the TETRA-S Multiplier Event in Brussels, hosted by the ENSA Network at their invitation. TETRA-S aims to strengthen the competencies of adult educators in teaching transversal skills to people with cognitive disabilities, ensuring these skills are effectively applied in everyday life. In a similar way to YoungCare, TETRA-S has developed a MOOC (available here: TETRA-S MOOC).
During her presentation, Inês shared the key outcomes of the YoungCare project, which include a comprehensive learning platform, a guide for informal caregivers and young adults in need of care, and recommendations for both policy and professional caregivers. The event also offered an opportunity to invite key stakeholders to participate in the final European roundtable with experts, where these recommendations will be co-created as part of a co-authored document.
It was a great honour for SHINE to represent YoungCare at this event, which featured valuable contributions from key stakeholders, including the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission, EASPD (European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities), Margherita Società Cooperativa Sociale, and TETRA-S partners such as the University of Évora (Portugal), NARHU (Bulgaria), IVASS (Spain), Groep Ubuntu (Belgium), and, of course, the ENSA Network.
