On 17 February, the YoungCare consortium gathered online for a transnational project meeting to discuss the latest project developments. A key highlight of the meeting was led by SHINE, which is responsible for developing the e-learning platform. SHINE presented the platform for the first time, currently available in English. Since it is still in the testing phase, an internal testing round will be conducted within the consortium in the coming days to gather feedback for further improvements. The goal is to refine the platform before workshop tests take place in Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Lithuania throughout February and March.
Some organisations in Portugal, along with informal caregivers, have already been invited to an online session where selected learning units from the e-learning platform will be tested. These workshops will provide valuable insights to enhance the platform’s effectiveness and accessibility. Additionally, discussions covered data collection procedures and the assessment framework to ensure a structured evaluation process.
A brief update on dissemination and promotion efforts was also provided. This included preparations for the European Multiplier Event, scheduled for 1 April 2025 in Vilnius, which will coincide with the next Transnational Project Meeting (TPM). During the TPM, partners will focus on shaping the YoungCare sustainability plan. The organisation of National Multiplier Events was also discussed—these events aim to broaden YoungCare’s impact by presenting the project’s key outputs to wider audiences through open sessions in each consortium country. The main outputs to be showcased include:
- The Compendium
- The E-learning platform
- Policy and professional caregiver recommendations
Through these ongoing activities, YoungCare continues to strengthen its support for informal caregivers and young adults in need of care, ensuring that its tools and resources are well-tested, tailored to the target audience, widely disseminated, and effectively implemented.
The YoungCare project is an Erasmus+ initiative in which SHINE 2Europe collaborates with ISIS-Sozialforschung (coordinator), AFEdemy – Age-Friendly Environments Academy, Vytauto Didžiojo Universitetas, Cadiai, and Parität Selbsthilfe. It is dedicated to developing strategies that improve the well-being of informal caregivers and adults under 65 in need of care.
