On 9, 11 and 17 June, SHINE, represented by Taiane Abreu and Natália Machado, organised three multiplier events for the AGE-MEDU project across Viana do Castelo, Coimbra and Viseu. AGE-MEDU is an Erasmus+ project developing a new geriatric nursing programme, educational materials and a virtual reality training platform to better prepare students for caring for an ageing population. SHINE leads the project’s dissemination activities.
Host institutions were delighted to receive the SHINE team. Professors highlighted how the VR platform and updated curriculum materials could be highly relevant to their teaching, noting that the approach made perfect sense for nursing education. Students particularly enjoyed the interactive game, finding it a lighter and more enjoyable way to learn about geriatric nursing. Many commented that the game helped them identify areas for improvement without the pressure of traditional assessment methods.
The feedback gathered will inform the ongoing development of the AGE-MEDU platform and materials. At SHINE, we are committed to driving innovation in education and healthcare, creating solutions that empower learners and professionals to build a better future.
