On 27 February, SHINE 2Europe organised the first BRAVE-WOW Community of Practice (CoP) meeting, bringing together more than 35 stakeholders from across Europe and beyond. The session welcomed participants from Portugal, Italy, and Spain, and from other countries including Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Angola, Brazil, and South Africa.
The meeting was presented by Inês Saavedra and Paola Bello (SHINE 2Europe) and introduced the Community of Practice as a collaborative space to support exchange across sectors and countries, and to strengthen collective efforts to prevent and combat gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work, with a particular focus on the healthcare sector. This contributes to the broader BRAVE-WOW approach of combining robust data gathering with stakeholder engagement and concrete tools that can support long-term change.
During the session, the consortium presented:
- The main objectives of the BRAVE-WOW project
- The vision and goals of the Community of Practice
- The structure and aims of the Working Groups, including:
- WG1: Engaging men, boys and bystanders in preventing and combating GBV
- WG2: Communication approaches to GBV across the media
- WG3: Cultural and social contexts and their impact on legal frameworks
SHINE leads Work Package 3 on participatory research and stakeholders’ engagement, and leads key tasks in Work Package 6 related to communication, dissemination, and Community of Practice activities.
