On 27 and 28 May 2026, Lucas Cardoso da Silva represented SHINE 2Europe at the PATH Project Screenathon in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The Screenathon, organised by FwdFaster AI, focused on the systematic screening of scientific literature. This two-day event brought together project partners to support the development of a landscape analysis that will inform the next stages of the PATH Project.
From an initial dataset of approximately 69,000 records, partners worked collaboratively to identify the studies most relevant to the project. During the first day, participants received training, calibrated the eligibility criteria, and began the screening process. On the second day, the screening activity was intensified, resulting in more than 3,000 records screened by the end of the event.
This work contributes to the project’s broader aim of transforming cancer care by integrating ethical, evidence-based AI tools into clinical workflows and establishing a privacy-preserving, federated health data space to improve patient outcomes across Europe.
The Patient AI Treatment Hub (PATH) project, funded by the Innovative Health Initiative Joint Undertaking under Horizon Europe, brings together 23 partners from 10 European countries to advance cancer care through the responsible use of artificial intelligence and secure health data sharing.
