SHINE 2Europe has 3 presentations approved for the 31st APDR Congress on Regional Ecosystems of Innovation and Sustainable Development.
Scientists, economists, sociologists, geographers, urban planners, policy makers and researchers will be meeting from 26 to 28 June at the Universidade Politécnica de Leiria, Portugal.
SHINE will have a very significant presence on 27 June, presenting work from three of its ongoing projects: SIRENE, INTEGER and NewEcoSmart.
Carina Dantas, SHINE 2Europe CEO and coordinator of the SIRENE project, an initiative funded by the Horizon Europe programme, will present “SIRENE: A social innovation framework for regional innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems”. Carina will talk about how the SIRENE consortium is developing a social innovation framework that aims to promote the growth of regional innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems through social innovation, strengthening their capacity to provide ecological and sustainable community-based services for the implementation of inclusive environments – Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments (SHAFE) – in Europe.
On the same panel, Inês Saavedra will present the paper: “INTEGER: fostering social-business collaboration for impactful change”. INTEGER is also a European initiative supported by the Horizon Europe programme and its main objective is to bridge the gap between social and business objectives through collaborative approaches, promoting mutual benefits for innovation.
Also on the 27th, but on another panel, Natália Machado will represent the consortium of the project “NewEcoSmart: a pioneering initiative to revive rural areas and empower adults 45+”. The project aims to improve entrepreneurial skills and mindsets by promoting the adoption of circular production and consumption practices. The consortium, made up of representatives from industry, VET institutions, social innovation actors and local authorities, has directed its collective experience and knowledge towards revitalising rural areas with a rich tradition of manufacturing Habitat-related products, particularly adults 45+, SMEs and micro-enterprises.
SHINE 2Europe’s participation in the 31st APDR Congress highlights the organisation’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development. By presenting three different projects – SIRENE, INTEGER and NewEcoSmart – SHINE demonstrates the importance of fostering social innovation, social-business collaboration and the revitalisation of rural areas. With its representatives sharing the results of their projects, SHINE’s presence reinforces the need for integrated approaches to tackling regional challenges and promoting sustainable and inclusive development.
