On May 29, SHINE 2Europe took part in an exciting discussion on empowering citizens and other ecosystem actors in the digital world, representing the SIRENE project.
This expert debate brought together representatives from four different European projects to talk about their actions to improve the literacy of citizens and ecosystem actors for their health and well-being in the digital world.
Carina Dantas, CEO of SHINE, joined Sara Canella, Laura Pruneda González, Tino Marti, Alice Seim and Matt X Richardson to discuss the highlights, challenges and achievements of SIRENE in a fruitful workshop with the IDEAHL – Improving Digital Empowerment for Active Healthy Living, Digital Health Uptake (DHU) and SHIFT-HUB projects on empowering health stakeholders in the digital age.
The SIRENE project, coordinated by SHINE, aims to improve the well-being and housing conditions of the European population by empowering social and private entrepreneurs. Notably, the project focuses on improving the housing and independent living conditions of people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, since the main objective is to promote and support a more active and healthy life.
By providing a co-created Social Innovation framework and tools for creating and nurturing ecosystems in the area of SHAFE – Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments, the SIRENE project consortium believes it can create the first successful steps towards a more inclusive society.
The event discussed ideas for bridging the gap between theory and practice, offering a pragmatic vision of a European Digital Health Literacy Strategy and how this type of tool can be used to empower people with the knowledge they need to live better in tune in this digital world and what benefits they can derive from this process.
Health professionals, policymakers, educators and others took part in this webinar to exchange ideas, collaborate and join collective efforts to build a more digitally literate and empowered society.
