On 23 April 2026, the SHINE team organised a partner project webinar as part of the MULTIPULM project, bringing together projects funded under the same theme of the Horizon Europe programme, with the aim of sharing updates and exploring future synergies.
Hosted by SHINE’s CEO Carina Dantas, the webinar brought together 5 leading projects tackling multiple long-term conditions within the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD).
It was a privilege to convene and inspire exchange between MULTIPULM, EMPOWER, HIVE, M-CARE and PEN-CONNECT, creating a shared space to reflect, align, and strengthen collaboration across our efforts.
MULTIPULM improves care for people with chronic respiratory conditions and multimorbidity through integrated, digitally supported models, namely in low-and middle-income countries. Chronic respiratory multimorbidity is on the rise worldwide and affects these countries most severely. The project brings patient-centred digital care to Brazil, Serbia and Turkey, where unequal access and limited resources call for urgent and innovative solutions.
After very valuable opening remarks from Marina Koussathana, European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) and presentation on the GACD by Izzy Bandurek, the discussion reinforced a key message: addressing multimorbidity requires not only innovation, but true coordination across disciplines, sectors, and geographies.
By connecting approaches to integrated care, implementation research, and digital health, we are collectively moving closer to more resilient and person-centred health systems.
This was just the beginning and SHINE looks forward to building on this momentum together.
