On 14 October, SHINE 2Europe participated as a speaker at the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Health Sector Group meeting, which took place in Coimbra, Portugal. The meeting brought together prominent regional and national actors and aimed to promote cooperation among EEN members, with a focus on providing their clients with the best international partnerships, access to financing, strengthening supply chains, and other opportunities.
During the session, Natália Machado, Project Director, had the opportunity to present some of the international projects developed by SHINE in the health sector, highlighting their contribution to social innovation and the strategic involvement of various stakeholders.
The projects presented reflected the diversity of SHINE 2Europe’s work. In the area of health and ethics in Artificial Intelligence, RadioVal was presented, which validates radiomics tools applied to breast cancer, LIVERATION, conducting a multicentre clinical trial to evaluate liver interventions, and AI4HF, focused on developing reliable AI solutions for the personalised monitoring of patients with heart failure.
Regarding stakeholder involvement and health literacy, MAYA stood out, empowering young cancer survivors to manage their cardiovascular health through digital tools. MULTIPULM proposed an integrated digital ecosystem to improve the quality of life of patients with lung diseases, and TRACE aimed to bring research closer to clinical practice in cancer prevention. Also mentioned were the READI, CURTAIN and CAREWAY projects, dedicated to promoting health literacy and reducing inequalities in access to information and cancer care across Europe.
Attending this meeting reinforced SHINE 2Europe’s commitment to contributing to the development of digital solutions in the health sector, with co-creation as an integrating principle. It was also an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing best practices, strengthening ties with other EEN members and partners in the health sector at European level.
