The 2025 consortium meeting of LIVERATION was hosted in Paris at the premises of ECRIN – the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, on 8-9 October, organised by the project coordinator, IMIM – Hospital del Mar Research Institute. SHINE was represented by Natália Machado, Projects Director, and Minoo Doost, Project Manager.
The two-day meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the project and planning the upcoming period, towards the successful development of the Pragmatic Clinical Trial to evaluate if an innovative radiofrequency technique can decrease the recurrence rate of Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastasis and improve patient survival.
SHINE contributes to the social sciences and humanities dimension of the project by organising Ethical Dialogue Workshops with partners to identify and address practical challenges related to ethical, societal, and regulatory perspectives such as informed consent across languages, GDPR-compliant data use, equitable access, and site-level feasibility, guaranteeing that results are not only scientifically sound but also socially acceptable, practical, and sustainable within healthcare systems.
As part of this work, SHINE is preparing the second Ethical Dialogue Workshop, which will take place in November 2025. This event will bring together stakeholders to discuss and prioritise the main challenges identified in the project and define effective strategies to overcome them.
The team looks forward to continuing this collaboration and supporting the next stages of the project, working closely with partners to turn research outcomes into meaningful impact for patients and healthcare systems.
