SHINE 2Europe is organising the multiplier event for the GreenerAge project, as part of a public session entitled “OneAquaHealth and GreenerAge: Together for a more Sustainable Coimbra”. Preparing for a journey towards sustainability, the city of Coimbra is opening its doors to this joint initiative, scheduled for 8 November 2023, at the Water Museum, between 09h00 and 13h00.
SHINE 2Europe will be holding the multiplier event for its GreenerAge project, funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme. Carina Dantas, SHINE’s CEO, will introduce GreenerAge, an initiative aimed at a significant section of the population: citizens over 55. Its aim is to improve and foster environmental literacy among this age group, encouraging the adoption of more sustainable behaviours and promoting more active citizenship. To this end, the project’s partners have been developing valuable tools and resources such as an accessible and free online platform, a compendium of practical tips for everyday life, a training manual for educators of adults and some policy recommendations.
These are the materials that will be presented at this multiplier event and that will be discussed during the session by the public, who will be able to test what has already been developed, make suggestions for improvement and thus contribute to the future development of GreenerAge. Inês Saavedra, a researcher and proje at SHINE ct manager, will present the results of the project, test the digital platform and explore interaction with the participants, collecting their opinions.
“OneAquaHealth and GreenerAge: Together for a more Sustainable Coimbra” aims to present the two projects and encourage discussion among local actors in the city of Coimbra about environmental sustainability and the health of natural and human ecosystems.
The event is being organised by the University of Coimbra through its Centre for Marine and Environmental Sciences (MARE), which coordinates the OneAquaHealth project, and by SHINE 2Europe, a private applied research and social orientation organisation based in Coimbra and a partner in both projects (GreenerAge and OneAquaHealth).
This will be an unforgettable meeting not only for non-governmental organisations, universities, schools, citizens’ associations, researchers, political decision-makers and companies, but also for any citizen who is enthusiastic about sustainability and defending the health of the planet and its inhabitants.
This Joint Session of the Environmental Sustainability Projects is a significant milestone in raising awareness and inspiration for a more sustainable future. Everyone is invited to join this crucial discussion to build a greener, healthier and more resilient city.
