SAA game scenes were presented in Portugal

SHINE 2Europe held a workshop with older people on March 2nd under the scope of the European project Smart Against Ageism – SAA.

SHINE 2Europe, represented by researchers Juliana Louceiro and Natália Machado, held a workshop with users of the Residential Structure of the Dr José Lourenço Júnior Foundation to validate the scenes of the game to be developed under the SAA project. The SHINE team met with a group of older adults to present the project, script and scenarios of the game, users contributed with their opinion and discussed what could be done in face of the described cases and how people and institutions should deal with situations of age discrimination. The collection of feedback is fundamental for the development of the game, as it allows it to become as close to reality as possible.

In the remaining countries, the same survey is being carried out, and the suggestions given by the participants will be used to improve the game in the coming months.

The SAA project is a game-based educational tool to raise awareness against ageism. It will contribute to developing more empathy and tolerance towards older adults. The consortium brings together partners from Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Lithuania, Bulgaria and the Netherlands, who will work together until June 2024.
