The European Legal Design Action (ELDA) is a pan-European initiative that combines legal design, plain language, and artificial intelligence to make complex laws, regulations, and contracts simpler, fairer, and easier to implement. By tackling regulatory burden from both ends, ELDA improves existing laws to make them accessible for citizens, authorities, and small businesses, while also ensuring future legislation is designed with clarity and usability from the start. By uniting legal experts, policymakers, technologists, and businesses on a shared collaborative platform, the initiative builds expert capacity across Europe, levels the playing field for smaller enterprises against larger competitors, and ensures legal frameworks achieve their intended real-world impact. |
