SHINE 2Europe is in Palermo, Italy, represented by Juliana Louceiro and Luís Dias, participating in the second transnational meeting of the PRIORITY45 project.
Adults over 45 are one of the most neglected groups in companies, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic that has completely changed the way we work. One of the main obstacles encountered is the difficulty in changing jobs or starting a business after reaching a certain age. It is important that workers can reinvent themselves by acquiring transversal skills to use their experience and wisdom to transform society and businesses.
PRIORITY45 aims to promote the upgrading and re-skilling of adults over 45, thus contributing to creating inclusive environments that foster equal job opportunities in the European economy. SHINE is the coordinator of this international Erasmus+ project, which includes CETEM CEIPES, iED and LURS.
The partners are in the next days making the final adjustments of the Training Curriculum – composed of 5 modules – and outlining the next steps: the development of the virtual journey through the contents.
In line with this area, SHINE launches on this occasion an informative factsheet, aimed at employers, which can be consulted at https://shine2.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Factsheet-Idaismo_EN_B.pdf. This document provides good practice tips for companies and organizations to combat ageism – the most prevalent form of age discrimination in Europe. In addition to explaining what ageism is in the workplace, it reveals how stereotypes can be recognized in organisations, as well as strategies and policies to reduce age discrimination.
The document was developed by Juliana Louceiro and Carina Dantas, in a partnership with the University of Coimbra, within the scope of the master’s degree in Organizational Psychology.
