PRIORITY45 Highlights of the NES Sustainability Webinar: Training as a Pillar of Innovation

On 21 November 2024, the NES Sustainability Webinar: Education as a Pillar of Innovation brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss the fundamental role of education. The session featured presentations of innovative projects that address rural empowerment, improving adult skills and reskilling to meet the challenges of a dynamic global economy.

PRIORITY45, presented by Inês Saavedra from SHINE 2Europe, was one of the highlights of the webinar. This initiative aims to equip people aged 45 and over with essential skills through a virtual training course in transversal skills. By bridging the gap between adult education providers and businesses, PRIORITY45 promotes adaptability, supports lifelong learning and increases the professional resilience of individuals in mid- and late-career. The project addresses the pressing need for workers to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving labour market, promoting their inclusion and professional growth.

The webinar, presented by Almudena Muñoz, coordinator of the NES, emphasised the importance of projects like PRIORITY45 in achieving sustainability goals.

The event also emphasised the importance of promoting collaboration between European projects in order to amplify their collective impact. Initiatives like PRIORITY45 benefit greatly from sharing good practices, methodologies and innovations across borders. Linking up with other European projects promotes synergies, boosts sustainability efforts and ensures that the results of individual projects contribute to a broader, unified vision of a sustainable future.
By creating networks and promoting cooperation between projects, the NES initiative reinforces the role of education and training as essential pillars for social and economic transformation, ensuring that the impact of these efforts extends far beyond their initial scope.
