The kick-off meeting of the TRIO project took place on May 25 and 26 in Porto.
TRIO is an Erasmus+ project that aims to empower citizens of different ages through informal education, in the areas of health, digital and data literacy.
According to the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) 2020, there are a higher number of citizens living in Europe with few digital skills.
The TRIO project aims to develop a concerted upskilling pathway to improve health, digital and data literacy of 3 different age-ranges (18-35; 36-50; 51+), promoting adult education through the development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity.
For the next two years, TRIO will develop a modular approach with a manual, a curriculum and a complete toolkit for adult educators, designing it in co-production with the relevant stakeholders, supported by a platform that ensures adaptation to the changing needs of the users, technology and context. TRIO will also develop a Green Paper to be delivered to policy makers and relevant European Initiatives.
INESC TEC (Portugal) is the project coordinator, and the consortium includes 5 other partners from 5 countries: SHINE 2Europe (Portugal), AFEdemy (The Netherlands), ISIS – Sozialforschung (Germany), CETEM (Spain) and BOK (Romania). TRIO also includes several additional organisations as associated partners of the initiative, ensuring it will reach different citizens and groups in the involved countries and beyond.
The project was kicked off in a two-day meeting with the presence of the Portuguese National Erasmus+ Education and Training Agency to discuss the work and launch the next activities.
Further news to come soon for the co-creation of the platform and contents!
