With over 20 years of experience in the social and health care sector,
there is not enough time in one timelife for all I wished to do.
I have written over 200 proposals for funded projects and managed/ implemented many of them in the field, with all its challenges, but also with many rewards, such as smiles, when they improved the quality of life of people with specific needs.
Besides being SHINE's CEO and Project Manager for an international umbrella organisation, I am also developing the standard EU Ethics framework for the ICT Profession, as external expert for CEN.
I am Chair of NET4Age-Friendly, Vice-President of the European Covenant on Demographic Change and Coordinator of the Stakeholder Network SHAFE - Smart Healthy Age-friendly Environments.
As a cancer survivor, this is one specific are where I hope to bring some added value.
I am an IT Engineer and software developer and have also been working as IT trainer for over 18 years.
As SHINE COO, I am project manager, fully engaged in proposal writing and preparation, networking and stakeholder engagement.
I have a special focus and expertise in the areas of health, especially mental health and reintegration of excluded citizens in the job market developing personal and digital skills.
I like games, gadgets and platforms and try to keep updated in the digital world.
RESEARCHER | COMMUNICATION
in Communication and Public Relations, I also have a background related to the
arts and architecture.
I have experience in a non-profit organization in which I work since 2014 in communication and support the implementation of national and international projects developed with and for people. The areas that I like the most are those that allow me to have direct and personal contact with different audiences of all ages and to understand how these projects improve their lives.
Realizing how design, architecture and communication can create inclusive and healthier environments for everyone is a theme that I greatly appreciate, and I am always curious to learn more from people.
I love doing interviews and talking to different people with different stories and experiences. I was part of the support platform for refugees and worked on projects of social inclusion for migrants and people of different ethnicities.
The projects I most enjoyed working on boosted the digital literacy of older persons and are effective in cognitive stimulation, also combating isolation and loneliness.
RESEARCHER | DESIGNER
a graphic/web designer born in Coimbra, Portugal, having studied Design and
Multimedia at the University of Coimbra.
I've been working since 2017 in a non-profit organisation that supports more than 25.000 persons/year, where I do multimedia and print design, as well as management of social media channels.
Always curious to explore different fields I've also been a LGBTQ+ Youth Group Coordinator, where I planned and hosted meetings with different themes twice a month. I've also participated in a hackathon as a mentor of teams participating in a challenge to develop technology through themes such as active ageing, integration of refugees and migrants, and the well-being of migrant children and young people. I am currently supporting research tasks in SHINE, where I can further develop these skills and competences and combine it with my initial training.
I love hearing from people's experiences and learning how design can improve their lives.
