Gianna Tsakou (F) is a Senior Project Manager / Senior Analyst in the Athens Research and Development Lab of Maggioli S.P.A. She is currently the Coordinator of INCISIVE, a 10M€ EC funded research and innovation project implemented by 26 partners, targeting the development of a multimodal AI-based Toolbox and an interoperable health imaging repository for the empowerment of imaging analysis related to the diagnosis, prediction and followup of cancer. She is also the Principal Investigator for Maggioli in two more EC funded projects targeting AI in cancer imaging and big health data repositories. She has been acting as project coordinator / analyst and researcher of EC and nationally funded IT research projects since 1999.
She has worked as a researcher and/or project coordinator for both the public sector and the private sector in over 30 R&D projects through which she has acquired expertise and know-how in a wide range of research areas among which: AI in cancer imaging, healthy ageing and independent living, eHealth services, accessible services for and interfaces for people with disabilities and eInclusion), multi-modal interfaces, interoperability of services and big data, as well as natural language processing and resources, speechenabled services, and machine translation. During her professional career she has also gained know-how in ICT systems for cultural heritage, digital libraries and eLearning. Since 2003, she is frequently acting as an expert evaluator and reviewer for several different Programmes of the EC over the years (currently under Horizon Europe – several topics, EIC Accelerator and Digital Europe Programmes).
