Charalampos Vassiliou

Mr. Charalambos Vassiliou has received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from
the University of London, Queen Mary and Westfield College (UK) and M.Sc. in
Computer Science from the University of Oxford (UK), specializing in Artificial
Intelligence (AI). He is currently working as a Digital Transformation Advisor
at the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance (Minister's Office, Mr. Kyriakos
Pierrakakis), and as Project Manager of Digital Strategy and Innovation at
National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET S.A.), providing
strategic advice in the design and implementation of public policy in the areas
of digital governance, open governance and innovation in the public sector. He
is also a member of the Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS) Working Group for
Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
He has actively participated in the development of the Digital
Transformation Book (DTB) as well as other projects such as the Greek Artificial
Intelligence Strategy, Digital Capabilities projects, etc. He has been a member
of working groups as a digital health expert for DG SANTE on the European
Health Data Space and for ECDC on digital surveillance systems for infectious
diseases.
He has served as a scientific and technical consultant to various
institutions and companies in the private and public sector, including
INTRASOFT International, SingularLogic, Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(EBEA), National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce (NCHC), Hellenic
Intellectual Property Organization (OPI), and others, in information systems,
web applications and new technologies in relation to various business and
research areas. He has been active in various research areas and has undertaken
more than 50 European and national projects in various fields.
Finally, he is a Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX)
Expert for the European Commission, providing advice to various public
organizations and beneficiaries on specific issues (e.g. legislation,
presentation of best practice examples, assistance, etc.), and recently appointed Member of the Sustainable Economy Advisory Group for the Region
of Attica, managed by the Innovation Center of Attica
Region.
