The European Health Futures Forum (EHFF) is a not for profit organisation dedicated to improving the health of European citizens through an open interactive and inclusive forum. It is open source and brings together diverse communities, engages citizens by employing methods, technologies and expertise in the task of thinking, debating and shaping the future of health and healthcare in Europe.
EHFF works with individuals or knowledgeable in the health and healthcare sphere and works to attract members from other fields of interest in society as a whole and it now counts Carina Dantas as a community member.
On march 8, International Women’s Day, SHINE’s CEO and other members of EHFF Working Group on Women’s Health brought together voices of change. Some of the key elements the voices are calling for are: change the systems, not the women, because women’s health is not a niche, it is a lens for equity and justice; fund and fix the research, because women remain underrepresented in clinical trials, underdiagnosed in conditions from cardiovascular disease to endometriosis, and underserved by data built on male defaults; make it a political and financial priority, because women’s health remains globally underfunded.
Momentum is building – in national strategies, in EU policy, in science. But it’s incremental and momentum without money and accountability stalls too quickly. Wellbeing is a human right.
