Carina Dantas, SHINE 2Europe‘s CEO, will be present at the 4th Algarve Breast Cancer Congress, where she will be part of the event’s first panel on Friday 14 February at 9.20am. The expert will address the topic ‘Ethics and Artificial Intelligence: protecting the human in the digital age’, bringing an essential reflection on the intersection between technology and fundamental rights in the area of health.
With a career dedicated to innovation and ethics in artificial intelligence, Carina Dantas has a degree in Law and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Ethics in A.I.). Currently, as well as being CEO of SHINE, she is also Chair of the SHAFE Foundation and a member of the CEN/CENELEC TC 428 Committee, as well as managing various international projects in the field of digital health.
International projects in this area include RadioVal | International Clinical Validation of Radiomics Artificial Intelligence for Breast Cancer Treatment Planning, an initiative for the clinical validation of radiomics and artificial intelligence applied to breast cancer treatment, and LIVERATION, a pragmatic clinical trial in 7 countries testing a new technique to reduce the recurrence of liver cancer metastases.
Carina Dantas is actively involved in oncology initiatives, playing leading roles, namely as Chair of the Citizen Involvement Working Group of the Diagnosis and Treatment Cluster for 2024-2025 of Mission Cancer; Leader of WG2 of the COST Medi_Case Action; Co-investigator in the EUonQol project; Member of the Advisory Board of various projects, such as CINDERELLA, 4P-CAN and Palliakid.
The 4th Algarve Breast Cancer Congress will bring together specialists, researchers and health professionals to debate technological and scientific advances in the fight against cancer.
