Carina Dantas, SHINE’s CEO, attended the high-level Conference “Supporting Skills Development through Reforms – investing in Training and Upskilling for a Resilient and Qualified Europe”, on May 25th, in Porto (Portugal).
This conference was organised by the Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) of the European Commission in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security of Portugal and the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL).The main aims of the conference was to exchange knowledge on how to support reforms in the area of skills development and how to build synergies with EU funding instruments such as the European Regional Development Fund and the European Social Fund. Moreover, this conference allowed to discuss how to design and implement meaningful up-and-reskilling programmes, how to establish quality assurance systems for training providers and how to address existing skills shortages in key sectors like health, education, tourism or the green economy.
The knowledge and network gathered at this conference will help to improve our PRIORITY45 project, coordinated by SHINE. In PRIORITY45, we are developing a comprehensive curriculum, especially focused on 45+ adults, addressing the needed knowledge, skills and attitudes. This curriculum will be the base of a pioneer training resource for 45+ adults and organisations interested in lifelong learning.
