On September 26th, the Consortium of AGE MEDU had its first meeting, and SHINE, as a partner was also present. AGE MEDU – Advancing Geriatric Education for Nurses and Techs at High University – is a two-year project coordinated by Zena (Croatia) and puts together the Polytech of Šibenik (Croatia), AFEdemy (the Netherlands), “DIOFANTOS” Institute of Computer Technology and Publications (Greece), SHINE, University of Porto (Portugal) and The Hague University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands).
The project aims to improve the quality of higher education in the EU through international collaboration, specifically through the development of an innovative educational programme for nursing and technical professionals focusing on geriatrics and gerontology in Croatia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Greece. To reach this aim, the consortium will start by researching the needs and gaps in nursing curricula, to improve the curricula in this area afterwards. We will also develop several educational materials for students and educators, including VR practice software!
